BMI (Body Mass Index) is a simple calculation used to check whether your body weight is healthy for your height.

BMI Formula

BMI = Weight divided by Height

But Height Measurment is bit tricky like you need measure by meter like your Hight is (5.7 FT) (67inch) (170cm) its 1.7 mtr then you need make Square the height (multiply height × height) like 1.7 x 1.7 =2.89

Steps to Calculate

  1. Measure weight → in kilograms (kg).
  2. Measure height → in meters (m).
    • If height is in centimeters → divide by 100 to convert to meters.
  3. Square the height (multiply height × height).
  4. Divide weight by squared height.

Example

  • Weight = 70 kg
  • Height = 170 cm (1.70 m)
  • How to make multiply Height ? if you calculate 1.7 x 2= result is 3.4 but its wrong you need calculate 1.7 x 1.7 = result coming 2.89 this one is correct answer

So your BMI is Calculated by your Weight is 70kg Divided by your Height like 2.89 (70 divide 2.89 =24.2) so your BMI is 24.2
